The Global Linguistics Grants Registry is an independent, non-affiliated index of major funding opportunities for linguistic research, language documentation, fieldwork, and the language sciences more broadly. It was assembled to give scholars — particularly early-career researchers and community-based language workers — a single reference point for upcoming calls.
Listings are compiled from publicly available funder announcements and updated on a quarterly basis. The Registry is not affiliated with any granting body and does not collect application materials on behalf of funders. Always confirm details directly with the awarding institution.
Editorial scope covers descriptive, theoretical, computational, and anthropological linguistics, as well as adjacent fields where language is a primary object of study (philology, sociolinguistics, language documentation, ethnolinguistics).
Corrections, suggestions, and partnership inquiries are welcome via the contact page.
Brand Identity
The Registry's visual identity is intentionally restrained. Editorial clarity is the brief; the mark, palette, and typography exist only to keep listings legible and trustworthy.
Mark
A bisected circle. The horizon line denotes the baseline on which language is recorded.
